Cloud phone systems are a way of delivering voice services over the Internet instead of using local phone systems stored in each building or office. Normally, when using a landline, dialing a number from a business phone would lead to the phone box (what we call a PBX or Private Branch Exchange) somewhere in your communications room. From the phone box, your call navigates to the central office where your call is routed through various carriers and then reaches the person or company you are calling. This is considered a traditional, on-premises, phone system.

In a cloud phone system, the phone box is no longer located in your office or building. With cloud voice services, your call is routed from your desk phone, mobile app, or desktop app, through the internet to a data center that centrally manages your phone system. From the data center, your call is routed to the receiving party via the internet, the telephone network, or both. All of this happens in a fraction of a second, so you will barely notice any delay or lag whatsoever if your internet supports voice over the internet.

General Questions On Phone Systems:

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. This is a method of providing voice communication over the internet. You can have VoIP phones without having IP phone lines (phone lines via the internet). A VoIP phone operates on data cables and is configured through your internal network. A benefit of VoIP or IP telephony is that you could unplug your desk phone and plug it into your neighbouring room’s data jack, and it would still maintain all your personal settings and function normally. Because of this, you can use your desk phone at a remote or home office too.
One thing to be aware of is that VoIP phones do have a higher price tag than digital phones due to the extra flexibility. You also need to consider your internet speed and internal network setup to see if you can support voice over the internet.

We can do it all so whatever route you would like to take, we can sit down and discuss your options further. We also analyse your internal network and external speeds and delay times to ensure that VoIP is a viable option for you. This is an important step to ensure that you have no surprises after purchasing a new system. An additional option? Use a hybrid system that will function on both traditional and modern technology, allowing you to evolve your communication as your business grows.

PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange, which is a private telephone network used within a company or organization. The users of the PBX phone system can communicate within their company or organization and the outside world, using different communication channels like Voice over IP, ISDN or analog Trunks (telephone lines). A PBX also allows you to have more phones than physical phone lines (PSTN) and allows free calls between users. It also provides features like transfers, voicemail, call recording, interactive voice menus (IVRs) and ACD call queues (Call Centre).

The call quality of VoIP can vary depending on factors such as internet connection speed, network congestion, and the quality of the equipment used. However, with a good internet connection and high-quality equipment, VoIP call quality can be equal or better than traditional phone calls.

On Site represents our on-premise phone system. it is installed and operated where your business is located. Because the hardware is housed onsite, On-premise phone systems have been the traditional choice for businesses for many years.

A cloud-based phone system, or cloud phone, is a phone service that allows you to make calls over the internet rather than over a traditional analog phone line that uses copper wires or optical fibers to make a connection. Cloud phones are hosted in one or more off-site secure data centers.

Hybrid IP PBX systems, also known as a digital hybrid IP-PBX system, VoIP PBX, or IP based PBX system, combine two different telecom systems commonly used by small businesses, educational institutions, and professional offices: the traditional PBX phone system and. VoIP technology.
